co-chairmen Mecars is an acronym which stands for MEdina County Ares Races Skywarn. These are not just words, but are organizations of volunteers dedicated to saving lives in disaster and emergency situations. The MECARS Committee is a special services committee of the Medina 2 Meter group formed to have an organized group of volunteers dedicated to cooperating with the State, Federal and local levels of Emergency Management Teams by providing communications in the event of natural or man-made disasters. All members of the committee are volunteers who sacrifice their time and equipment to plan, practice and facilitate emergency communications in the county. We are responsible for the maintenance and operation of amateur radio equipment, which was supplied by the county of Medina and located in the EOC covering the HF,VHF and UHF bands in the amateur radio spectrum. Due to ongoing changes within the structure of MECARS, meeting dates will be announced shortly. Please check back for updates
